Anatomy of Love

How do you know it?

Where and when do you know it?

What does it comprise of?

Why do you regard it?

Which form do you lose yourself in?

When you’re younger, love is discovery

When you transform, love is passion

When you grow, love is affection and care

When you give in, love is attachment

When you give up, love is companionship

Fleeting feelings, lasting essence…

Experience or experiment

Passion or delusion

Affection or empowerment

Companionship or independence

Why did you have to pick?

Pick your battles they said, didn’t mention picking gestures…

If it’s not the words, not the moments,

not the spark, not the nostalgia,

not the instinct, not the influence,

not the intimacy, not the connection,

then what is this thing you seek..

Do you seek to receive or do you seek to give?

Do you want to pick or do you want to be chosen?

Do you want to see or do you want to be seen?

Do you want to indulge or do you want to give in?

Do you need it or do you want it?

Transcending time, space, meaning and the absolute, what do you make of it?
